RE: School day will end at 3.15pm from September 2018

Dear Parents & Carers

Both St Johns CE Primary and St Chrysostom’s CE Primary will change the finish time of the school day in the new academic year.  The Governing Body have decided that with effect from September 2018 the two schools will both finish at 3.15pm.

Parents and the staff across the schools had time to consider the proposals and responses were received and considered by the Governing Body Board who met last month to decide on the proposal.

Thank you if you took time to email the school and share your views.  We had a small number of written responses with some parents supporting the proposals and some disagreeing.

One positive outcome for children is that more after school clubs will be arranged by teaching assistants as a result of this change as they work until 4pm each day and would have forty five minutes to run clubs.

8.40am                        School gates open

9am                             Lessons start (school playground gates close)

3.15am                        School day ends

3.15 – 4pm                  School clubs led by Teaching Assistants

If you have any questions or queries about any aspect of school life please contact the school office.

Yours sincerely
