Miss N Arfin
I have been a Parent Governor for the last three years and as a result of both schools going into federation my current role as a Parent Governor has come to an end. I wish to continue in this role and to enable me to do so, I need to stand for re-election for Parent Governor. My son goes to Year 3 in St Chrysostom’s and I live locally, I have good links with local communities in particularly with parents. This will enable me to represent the views of the local communities to ensure quality education for our children. Parent Governors play an important role to make sure that parents perspectives are considered at the strategic level. Being Parent Governor will provide me opportunities to make the positive contributions to the schools. I would like to continue to support school and staff to raise standards and improve outcomes for all children.
I work as a specialist nurse and understand the importance of abiding by the rules of confidentiality whilst dealing with governing issues. I am very organised, flexible and approachable. I have good experience in working with teams and will be able to work effectively with the headteacher, senior leadership team and other governors. I have excellent communication skills and will be able to challenge and contribute to the strategic discussions at Governing Body meetings. I have been on courses organised by the Governing body to support new Governors to understand their roles and responsibilities effectively. Being in the role for the last three years, I feel I have much more to offer so if I am re-elected with your help, I will continue to support and assist school and staff in children’s best interest.
